形態特徵

• A slender pubescent shrubby plant, 0.3–1.3 m tall, with tough bark.
• Leaves triangular, broadly ovate to lanceolate, larger ones often slightly 3-lobed, at base broadly cuneate-rounded to truncate, 5-nerved, acute, membranous, pubescent on nerves, 0.5–9 cm by 0.5–5 cm; petiole 0.3–4.5 cm; stipules less than 1 mm broad, 5 mm long, oblong-lanceolate or narrowly triangular, very acute.
• Terminal and axillary inflorescences many-flowered, dense, mostly head-like, rarely less compact, subtended by 1–4 leaves, the pilose stipules of which forming a kind of involucre; internode below lowest floral leaf rather long; apex of pedicels bearing 3 bracteoles; bracteole unilateral acute, pilose, ca. 4 mm long; calyx pilose, 2.5 mm long, calyx-teeth much shorter than tube, lanceolate acuminate, 5(–7); petals seated immediately above calyx, 5(–6), lilac or white, with a yellow spot at base, slightly obliquely obovate-spatulate, 4–5 mm by 1.8 mm; stamen ca. 2.7 mm long, filaments halfway or more connate; ovary pilose, 1.3 mm long. Capsule brown, globose, not or slightly grooved, wingless, setose, 3.5–5 mm in diameter, loculicidal, valves easily septicidal dehiscent.
• Seeds exalate.
